------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hey Y'all... Protest The Hero & LIGHTS Speaking of Protest The Hero, we're working them to the bone this week
to bring you some sweet sweet opportunities to get your rock on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Howdy Partners! 03.11.08 | A New Addition?? (and no, not New Edition.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Underground Operations is peeing themselves in excitement! We'd like to officially welcome LIGHTS into the UO family. Check out www.myspace.com/lightsnoise and be sure to visit the UO Store for some digital tracks. Sequoia's Throne? New video? Yep, that's right. Protest the Hero were in town last week to shoot the video for the ass shaking track. Aside from a trip scene of a snow storm that keep them stuck in Cleveland and a broken water pipe that caused part of the set to be flooded, the new video is off the hook. Stay tuned for more info and a sneak peek and the goodies. Speaking of videos and ass shaking, have you checked out the new Hostage Life video? No? You crazy! Feast your eyes on this little diddy Some bad news... unfortunately Protest the Hero had to drop off the remainder of the Silverstein tour. You can read all about it and send your hate mail at the Protest the Hero myspace. But don't worry your pretty little head. The boys will be hitting up both Canada and the US with good ol' Chiodos. Full list of dates coming soon. Now, for serious... when will all this snow stop? When will summer finally arrive? Geeeze, mother nature really does hate us. Wise up people, wise up. High fives all around. Catch you next time! xo. 02.23.08 | The Good, The Bad and the Ugly...aka Your Mom 01.10.08 | 2008 Y'allz! Hostage Life! RingTones! Fortress Pre-Sale! Get Psyched! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Happy New Year everyone! I trust you've all had ample time to sleep off those New Years Eve parties and are in prime condition for some updates, so lets get down to business, shall we? Everyone's favorite bastard sons Hostage Life have been quite busy writing new jams and generally being awesome. A little taste of said awesome-ness would be the free show happening at the Sound Academy (the Docks, for those of you slightly behind on your Toronto club turnovers). Guess who's playing? Dammit, I said guess! Fine, I'll just tell you, you lazy sods... the line-up is Strung Out, Hostage Life, and Protest The Hero, who stepped in last minute to replace Lagwagon, who apparently have a tall felon in their band that the Canadian border ain't down with. This is a free show, 19+, doors are at 8pm, it's first come first serve and this shit should be amaaaaazing, so get out there and dance like it's 1997. Additional awesome-ness is Exclaim TV's battle with the Ho-Life, featuring Patrick Mathers' reactions to internet shock videos, and an actual interview where (pssssh) actual questions are asked and answered. It's good stuff, check it out... And be on the lookout for White Jesus, 'cause I heard the guys have rolled the stone and released him. FORTRESS! I fucking love typing that. And listening to it. This masterpiece decends upon the world on the 29th of this month (January, for those of you who have been in comas) and so as the date draws ever closer, a few things have been fired up to help welcome this mutant into the family. First, there will be a Fortress Listening Party brought to you by Underground Operations and Skate4Cancer at the Sound Academy January 24th. Not only will this be your first opportunity to hear Fortress in it's entirety (through REALLY big speakers, no less!) but there'll also be live entertainment from The Last True Rock & Roller Rody Walker featuring Christopher Wynne and Machete Avenue plus dj sets by Rob Dyer (S4C) and Arif (PTH). Also, take on guitar hero shredders Moe and Luke (PTH) in the Band VS. Fan challenge! Cover is $10, doors are at 7pm. Second, we've added not only a Fortress Pre-Order to the UO MerchStore, but also a few sweet sweet pre-order deals that include limited edition posters and t-shirts. Maybe even some signed shit. Who knows. You could get lucky. Speaking of lucky (happy go?) there are gonna be some ridiculous afterparties sponsored by Jagermusic on the upcoming tour with Silverstein, featuring the dj talents of mistah Rob Dyer of Skate4Cancer, as well as guest djs from Ill Scarlett and PTH. Check out our tour dates section for info on the Tour, or check out PTH's myspace. If you're in the States, you can buy Sequoia Throne here, or if you're in Canada, you can buy Bloodmeat here. Look at their myspace here. Touch my tooter here. Worship the devil here. One more tasty bit of info is that we now have ringtones available, so all you wacky chuds with cellular devices should text 'underground' to 32123 for RingTones from Protest The Hero, Hostage Life, I Hate Sally, Closet Monster, Machete Avenue and The Holly Springs Disaster. 2008 and we're stepping it up, motherfuckers! Prepare yourselves for more big news on the horizon... And stay tuned for info on a Protest The Hero Eastern Canada tour with Hypodust and Track Dirtyaz... **UO. 12.17.07 | Xmaz tunes! New Goods on all sides! PTH, TS, IHS, UO, OMG! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Reindeer and Elves, You know what gets us warm and keeps us warm during these cold winter nights? New freakin' songs, that's what! They're comin' from all sides here, so Blammo! Peep the heads up... These Silhouettes and Machete Avenue have a sweet Holiday song combo available for digital download in our MerchStore, offering up their versions of Jingle Bells and Silent Night, both of which are about as awesome as spiked eggnog! Protest The Hero have unleashed a deadly combo as well, the Bloodmeat single is now available for purchase through Itunes, but unfortunately for all you Fargos south of the border, at the moment it's only available to the frothing PTH maniacs here in Canada, but settle-down there, we're working on making it available to all, so sit tight... But guess what? They've got a new myspace layout pimped with the artwork for their upcoming release Fortress(In Stores January 29th, 2008) and have given you all early holiday gifts by putting up another Fortress song titled Sequoia Throne. It's a freakin' ripper, so hit their myspace and listen to it, ohhhhh, i dunno, 100 times. While you're at it, why don't you check out the new video for Bloodmeat on Much AXS? Click on, Clickers. I Hate Sally's Sp(l)it with GFK is out now, available everywhere, and shreds like ice skates on a freshly zambonied surface, so if you haven't picked up your copy of this first installment into the Underground Operations VS. Series, you should do so now. NOW, dammit! It's right there in our MerchStore... Right next to The Thomas Ep, which will only be available in limited edition through our MerchStore and on the These Silhouettes merch table during their Sacrilicious Holiday Mini-Tour with Protest The Hero. Which also leads me to telling you about thenew myspace layout These Silhouettes have dropped, along with a sneak preview of their version of Jingle Bells. Did I mention our MerchStore? Damn right I did. There's tons of goodies there, so WTF mate, check that shizz out! Last, but certainly not least, December 18th you'll find us at the Bovine for the Underground Operations Holiday Celebration featuring some sweet dj sets by Dick Suck Charlie, Dj Jah Humbug (Arif from PTH) as well as live performances by The Last True Rock And Roller Rody Walker featuring Christopher Wynne, and The Lion's Pride featuring Timba and May-Jun. Good times will be had by all, so why don't you stop by, tip a little glass with us, and share the love. That's about it for now... We just decked your balls! Whatchoo gonna do about it, huh? Nothin! Now make me another train set, little billy finally made it on the Nice list this year. Wishing you all Happy Holidays, Satan Claws. 12.06.07 | Silhouettes, Fires, Booze and E-Commerce, Oh my! Sacrilicious! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Wow homie, things are starting to pick up steam in the UO camp and it’s keeping us warm at night (that and the bailey’s and coffees that keep us going). New signings, new releases, bands on tour, vans catching on fire, a sweet little merch store and a UO holiday party that you don’t want to miss. Now onto the dirty, dirty… We are beyond excited to announce that These Silhouettes have crossed over into the depths of Underground Operations Records. Previously part of the management and booking sector of the Underground Operations umbrella, These Silhouettes will be releasing their first recording on December 18th, 2007 entitled, “The Thomas EP.” This is a limited edition release, once it's gone it's gone, so get yours while the getting is good! The record will be available on merch tables in some southern Ontario towns and on the brand new Underground Operations merch store (…keep reading). They will be spreading “Thomas” around on a mini-tour with Protest the Hero. Check out www.myspace.com/thesesilhouettes for dates. Now onto the merch store. We’ve been holding onto this little baby for a while now but now we are ready to reveal it to the world. Click on that little box above that says“Merch Store” and be ready for deals out the ying yang, merch from UO bands, and limited edition UO merch. Not only can you buy some rad tee’s and zip ups but you can purchase digital releases of all UO records (including Marilyn’s Vitamins which is no longer in print…) Any purchase gets a free pin and patch and if you spend over $25 you get to choose from Bombs Over Providences “Shake Your Body Politic” or Closet Monsters “Killed the Radio Star”. This is one of two places that you can find the new These Silhouettes release and will be the only place where you will be able to get the new Protest the Hero single for “Bloodmeat”. Some bad news…I Hate Sally had been making the trek through Northern Ontario to meet up with Means when the transmission in their van went in Sauté Ste. Marie. After spending a night in the Sauté and draining all bank accounts they hit the road again attempting the 30 hour drive to Saskatoon in 29 hours. Somewhere between Saute Ste. Marie and Wawa the van caught fire (at least they had something to keep them warm….) Now stranded in Wawa for two days until it can get fixed, I Hate Sally will be making their way back home. Thanks to everyone who helped them and sorry to anyone that was stoked on seeing them (and if you weren’t you have some problems in the head.) West Coast – 2, I Hate Sally – 0. December 18th, 2007 - Underground Operations holiday party at the Bovine…uh oh, it’s going to be one of those nights. Sponsored by Jagermeister (yep, definitely one of those nights) and special performances and Dj sets by Underground Operations artists, it’s sure to be a hilarious night of falling down and picking yourself back up again. Oh and it’s a dear old friend of ours’ birthday…Josh Lindley will be in full ‘Chris Farley’ mode. The last true rock and roller Rody Walker featuring Christopher Wynne will be performing. If you don’t know about Rody’s solo career check out www.purevolume.com/rody and if you don’t laugh you have no soul. Guest DJ’s include Dick Suck Charlie and Tim & Arif from Protest the Hero. Doors at 9:30pm, entertainment starts at 10:00pm…Holiday sweaters in full effect and be sure to come early for holiday goodies. So that’s about it. If you are reading this before 6pm on Dec. 6th, watch MTV Live for a special performance by Protest the Hero or check out www.mtv.ca As always check out the tour date section… The Holly Springs Disaster is running around Southern Ontario, Protest the Hero and These Silhouettes will be doing a mini and of course, Protest the Hero will be going across Canada with Silverstein in the new year where you will finally get your greedy hands on “Fortress”. See you at the Bovine and be sure to pick up “Sp(l)it” the first in a new series of verses records. I Hate Sally will be taking on GFK December 11th, 2007. xo. 11.16.07 | Protest The Hero on tour!!! In other news, I Hate Sally's new video for Martha Served has been added to the Much & MuchLoad rotations, so here's a handy link to the Much AXS site for your viewing pleasure. It was directed by Marc Andre Debruyne, who has a really sweet David Lynch kinda thing going on... Watch, request, repeat. Then do it again. Radness. *** uo. 11.13.07 | Two Bands Enter... I Hate Sally & G7's own GFK have put together 3 new songs each that not only kicked each other in the teeth but will do the same to you. Brush up on your ninja skills cause on Dec. 11th you'll need them. Protest The Hero will be playing a slew of live sets at nDEX... Show up, say the secret password... Protest The Hero's Fortress out January 29th, 2008! ...and get in for free! How fucking cool is that? Set times are listed below: Friday 5 – 5:30 pm live set 7 - 7:30 pm live set Saturday 5:30 – 6pm live set 6pm - GH 3 live challenge 7pm -7:30 live set Sunday 2:30 - 3pm live set Taken straight from the press release beaming directly into my brain, big brother tells me that Canada’s gaming, entertainment and technology enthusiasts will have the opportunity to experience the latest in video gaming hardware, games, and all things digital as part of nDEX: Northern Digital Expo, taking place at the Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place in Toronto from November 2-4. These very same enthusiasts will have the opportunity to take in live sets from Protest The Hero, and maybe even do battle with them in the Guitar Hero III Competition. I don't recommend stepping to Moe, he'll shred your pathetic git-box hero skillz and embarrass you infront of all your nerd friends. Anyway, all the info for this event can be found at www.northerndigitalexpo.com Speaking of Protest The Hero... Fortress is done. That's right, fuckers. Done. You all really have no idea... This record shreds like a bastard, they've seriously upped the ante and I'd bet my left nut this masterpiece will cause most of you to pee your pants. Jan. 28th, 2008 is the release date. Ink that onto your calendars. Or tattoo it on your forehead. Or shave it into your pubes. Whatever you do, just make sure you pick it up, you'll thank me for it. You're welcome. Also on deck for a new release, I Hate Sally combines forces with their comrades GFK to create a split disc that'll mess you up something fierce. Sp(l)it comes out Dec. 11th, 2007 and has three brand-spankin' new tracks from each band. This is the first installment in our new UO 'VS.' series, so stay tuned for more info. Another thing worthy of mention... A new Underground Operations Online Store featuring Digital Downloads, exclusive merch, albums, and a small warehouse worth of other goodies is closer to being launched than any of us are willing to believe... After years of trying to build our own internet out of popsicle sticks and elastic bands, we decided we'd finally just take the easy way out and set up our own store so we can get down and dirty with you, one on one. Ohhh yeeeaaah. Um... Right. The point is that it'll be direct from us to you, which is great for everyone. I think that's about it for now... Expect another update real soon. *** The UO family. 09.18.07 | if this new record was a baby, I would have to wrap it in a blanket and smack it with a hammer... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Holly Springs Disaster- Motion Sickness Love is OUT NOW! its heavy. its brutal. its mind blowing. its so much you always wanted it to be. you can find it in stores, online via Itunes, or buy it from the band direct on their cd release tour.
